Why am I out here blogging? To sum it up in a word: tolerance.

I'm not writing to start arguments or to hurt feelings. I just want to be clear about that. I know that many, if not all, of my LDS family and friends are not going to agree with me about my views on Mormonism. That's fine; I'm not on a mission to make you agree with me.
What I am on a mission to do is allow my perspective to be heard. For years I held the very same life perspective as many of my LDS family and friends; I'm very aware of what these people might be thinking of me now. I want to break down previously held assumptions and give all of you a glimpse of why myself, or someone like me, chooses to leave Mormonism.
In addition to letting my voice be heard in regards to why I've made the choice to leave the Church, I want to share my experiences since I've left. My eyes have been opened and my world has been turned upside down. Maybe you can gain something from listening to my experiences. Maybe you'll gain a little empathy. Maybe you'll look inside and ask yourself some questions you've never really asked before. Maybe you'll just decide to accept me and others like me no matter our differences.
Once again, if you are here, thanks for being here and listening.
